ABSTRACTS

Call for abstracts
The IVAS Scientific Committee invites abstract submissions for “IVAS 2024”:

  • Short oral communications 

  • Posters

 

Abstract submissions should fall within one of the following conference themes:

​

  • Chemical analysis of grapes, wines, spirits and by-products

  • Oxidation, aroma, phenol chemistry and wine aging 

  • Genetic approaches towards better grape and wine quality

  • Biotechnology and microbiology

  • Non-targeted analysis and chemometrics

  • Sensory analysis and wine styles
     

General Guidelines for Abstract Submissions
All abstracts must be submitted online and in English.

 

Abstracts must be submitted using the following guidelines:

  • Specification of conference theme

  • Preference for oral or poster presentation

  • Name(s) and affiliation(s) of the corresponding author and co-author(s)

  • Title of the paper (200 characters max including spaces)

  • Main text should be sufficiently descriptive, including methodological aspects and the main results, but not exceed 2500 characters including spaces. Diagrams, illustrations, tables, graphics or bibliographic references are not requested.  Use 10-point normal Times New Roman typeface, justified alignment, type single line spacing.

 

Review Process
All abstracts will go through the following review process:

  • An email confirmation of receipt of the abstract will be sent 

  • All abstracts will be reviewed by a panel from the IVAS Scientific Committee 

  • Acceptance of an abstract will be based on relative merit and the degree to which the abstract meets the themes and aims of the conference program

  • The criteria for evaluating abstracts include, but are not limited, to the following:

  1. Clarity of abstract 

  2. Contribution to the themes of the conference 

  3. Interest to an international audience 

  4. Methodology should be specified 

  5. ​Main results should be presented 
     

Abstracts must be submitted online by January 31, 2024. Authors will be notified of abstract acceptance beginning March 1, 2024.

Virtual Special Issues

Contributors at IVAS 2024 will have the choice of submitting articles for inclusion in one of two virtual special issues:
I) Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry (and other American Chemical Society [ACS] publications)

ii) OENO One (International Viticulture and Enology Society [IVES] publication)
